This was a really fun demo, I'm super glad how the designing works and also the dialog was light and very Swedish lol. I finished with a large kind of empty living room; it reminded me of the house I grew up in. Its all simple but I love it :)
Oh and I don't know if that was just because I was playing without a mouse at the time, but sometimes wouldn't shoot. It would kinda work if you aim and and move the mouse in advance + I appreciated the secret aiming with q, since else I wouldn't be able to shoot.
quite a good game however very short and aiming is very finicky as you cant change sensitivity at all and is default very fast, also my screenshot did not save to my pc
Thanks for playing! Sorry that you encountered these issues. The aiming tech can for sure be improved. No idea why your screenshot didn't save though 🤔
The mood bar tells you that going on sniping missions makes Barry feel bad, but interior designing makes him happy, and is also a progress bar of how close you are to the end of the game ✌️
Was this actually play tested on Mac. Really disappointing when I donate to play the game and it turns out the controls don't work on Mac. The trackpad means you can't hold to aim and shoot. Impossible to play with Mac, please fix. Maybe make shooting a key?
I've been having some troubles with the controls as I have a Mac and my trackpad makes it impossible to shoot anything. I wish there was a way to key bind or something
Realllly enjoyed it. You perfectly spearheaded my two loves: cozy games, and sniper missions. (Sniper missions are, after all, the coziest of action games)
Had two places that were a little frustrating:
Not being able to physically move the camera to readjust where I was looking. Rotating is nice, but I play on a wide screen monitor, and it seemed like the interiors were "too close" - I kept wanting to pull the bottom of the screen up to reframe it.
When I clicked the dialogue to advance, instead of autocompleting and then waiting for me to click again to go to the next line, it would autocomplete, pause, and then jump immediately to the next line. Made it tricky to tell when was best to click to advance the dialogue faster (I'm a quick reader :) )
Hey there! Thanks for playing and giving feedback. 💛
We did not test this on Ultrawide but will definitely fix it in the full version! The skip is definitely buggy 😅 some things I should not be allowed to code 😆
This game was an absolute delight to play, I also saw Game Grumps play this and had to play it for myself!
What I loved:
The story line of being an assassin that finds a love for interior decorating, fantastic.
The mini-challenges of helping others create/rearrange their homes, more of that please!
The music was a whole vibe, especially the song with lyrics after the story ends *chefs kiss*, more music!
What could be improved:
Resolution support - I have an ultrawide monitor, and the game was slightly zoomed in for me than it should have been, being able to adjust for different screen sizes would be great.
Camera flexibility - I would consider adding a camera pan feature, it would make moving/positioning objects much easier.
Wall mounted things actually mounting to the wall - I know this is a demo, I hope in the full release the wall shelves stay where they're supposed to!
I would have loved to remove the existing sink in the bathroom so I could actually buy one of the ones in the catalog.
Some kind of positional warning before dropping objects would be nice, to avoid furniture tipping over multiple times :)
This game is fantastic, I can't wait for the full release!
I had SO much fun with this game! I would have loved to be able to customize or have color choices on the items, or have a wider variety of items, but it didn't take away from the experience!
If you continue to make a full version of this game I will be FIRST in line to play it! That's for absolutely sure!
On my second playthrough (attempting to go evil), I accidentally got Barry to throw away his gun again, consequently going on a mission to create (s)table structures fueled by a hyperfocus and a limitless budget...
I had a lot of fun playing this! I downloaded it after seeing Game Grumps and loved the idea so much I had to try it myself. I love interior design games and am kind of sucky at shooters, but the latter wasn't too complicated so I got by. I also love the idea of a disillusioned hitman indulging in his benign hobby and the potential morality implications that could be explored if you make a full version. I really hope you do go on to make a bigger version!
I did hit one bug the second time I played. I accidentally accepted a hit job right as Betty spawned on the home lot, and after that she never showed up again! I still had fun designing my house but it just wasn't quite the same without my girl haha.
This was awesome! I saw Game Grumps play this and I downloaded it instantly. The concept was so cool and fun to play, I hope Barry enjoys his dream job as an interior decorator! :)
Hey there, sorry about that, and thanks for reporting the bug. We've been struggling with this issue in some of these setups 😅 firing a shot in the air to get everyone moving sometimes does the trick 🤭
Very fun concept and charming throughout. Understandably limited choice of furniture and mission variety but is a very solid groundwork for a great full game.
Had a good time. Wish I could save so I could come back and redesign. I look forward to the full release as this was very relaxing. And yes I got inspired to play from the Game Grumps
Played this game and beat it in an hour or so. A ton of fun. Had a little issue with the shooting mechanic, but it almost feels intentional? Eiter way, I felt relaxed designing my little house. Here's the end result.
Of course! I'm very curious as the story goes on if there will be a twist with a particular neighbor, or if it's going to be a straightforward story about finding your passion. Either way, I'm very happy with this game.
this game was very fun and silly. i wish i could turn off the song that plays in free decorate mode. otherwise i really enjoyed it. definitely looking forward to a full release.
Thanks for playing! The music is meant to help communicate the mental health status, and tell players how happy Barry is, but I hear you. The singing got a bit much, hey?For the full game we'll likely use a different song, probably without singing. Paired with settings options to adjust music volume that should sort you out I hope 🤞
Pretty solid fun to kill a good half hour!! I think there's some stuff that needs polishing such as the way to click through cutscenes, but I had fun with the sniping half of it! Building was a little wonky but it's still neat. I wish I could unlock rugs and carpets, though. I hope that comes with the full release of the game! All and all plenty of fun, 10/10!
I really enjoyed this little game. The concept is interesting, but also fun. I can see Barry enjoying plants as much as he does interior decorating, so I may have gone a little ham on them haha.
Some issues I did come across: placement is a bit wonky and sitting around waiting. First, some items need to be pretty far from the wall to place without falling over, or like the lamp I have in the pic, it needs to be angled so the lower lamp isn't over the table even though it looks as though there is room, but I believe it's a collision issue. I also couldn't place the microwave on the kitchen counters, hence the extra little table. I think it looks cute either way, though. Second, sometimes it takes a long time for either your neighbor to visit, or for contracts to pop up. I'm not entirely sure what triggers it, but I found myself occasionally sitting around waiting for something to happen.
All-in-all, I really enjoyed the game and would love to a full version of the game whenever it comes out. I also really enjoyed the ending song, it had a good beat and really fit the vibe of the game.
Hey there! Thanks so much for playing! We really appreciate your feedback and seeing the home you created! 💛💙 Your plant game is 🔥!
We definitely still have some work to do improving on the furniture collision especially with round objects. I hear you on the timing issue, especially in the beginning of the game. For the full game we'll have to detangle the spagetti code and sort this out 😅 Thanks for the feedback!
ending of run house furnished how i had it. Great demo, would probably pay $15 for this as a full game, wish i could renovate the bathroom, maybe in the final product. 10/10 fantastic concept
First of all, thank you for letting us play such a cute and funny game! Even if it's just a demo, I had a great time and will definitely play it again to see if there are multiple endings. If I dismiss the neighbour, instead of making friends with her, will I turn evil perhaps...?
The combination of a Where is Waldo type of shooter with the Houseflipper element is perfect for a casual game like me! The difficulty level and mechanics were perfect. I can't wait for the full game.
If I might offer any suggestion at all, it would be that the dialogue could be a little crazier. The neighbour character is definitely nice but somewhat mundane; perhaps it would be funny if she was a nosey meddler or even has her suspicions about you, but can't help herself from asking for free decorating favors. Or the main character could be complaining about his job as a hitman without any regard for his victims, because he is a complete giddy fool for his decorating. More of a - let's just shoot this lad so I can make my house look rad - kinda vibe. Perhaps this dialogue could even be in chatform, though imo the voiceacting is a nice touch.
I think such a bit more over-the-top dialogue would match well with the characters/bystanders in the shooting part. For example, I loved the fact that some people had silly outfits, like the astronaut suit or the Robin costume.
The fact that there are no walls in the house is also a keeper: I know some people might like to decorate walls, but I would refer them to Houseflipper if they want more of that stuff. The same goes for the amount of furniture you can buy. Perhaps some rugs or floors would be nice, but no need to create a Sims level simulator. The way the game is now is complete and charming, it works well, short enough decorating 'assignments' to keep a 50/50 with the shooter scenes, plus it just provides a really nice overview of the entire house.
And the bonus of getting to keep decorating with unlimited budget was a fantastic addition! Plus I added a little message for the creators of the game in the screenshot. Sorry for the length of my message, but I hope it may be of some use to you. Wishing you all the best with your work!
Oh. My. WORD!! When we saw your screenshot we melted. Thank you SO much! Really appreciate your feedback as well. I love the idea of taking dialogues and story development over the top. Also: "let's just shoot this lad so I can make my house look rad"?? Do you want to join our marketing team? What a line!
Naww, your comment made my day right back, you're so welcome! It really makes me happy to play original games that obviously a lot of love is going into. And hit me up anytime for some fanwritten Barry lore hahaha
Barry zooms in on his target. He takes a focusing breath as he mumbles to himself, "I'm going to decorate my walls...with your brain".
He never did. He found a fabulous art nouveau wallpaper. It was easily affordable with the money from his latest hit.
So we're a system and given the dual nature of your game, we have two people really engaging with it, Sage as the decorator and Mania as the sharpshooter, so I'll let each of them review their sides of the playthrough!
First me! Mania!! It was a very short game, I wanted to shoot people more! But I understood that more when you called it a demo. Can't wait for the full thing! Here are the things I noticed: For the love of god, please add a mouse sensitivity option, it's way too high and we don't have one of those gamer ones that can adjust it.
We did have pen mouse with that setting so we used that instead but, my arm hurts lol; Missed a couple shots because of it, it was a bit annoying : ( The difficulty was nice tho, sometimes I expected the target to pass by a location and got majorly dubbed by the AI, so great work there, kept me on my toes > :3 8/10 wonky but will shoot again
Oookay, so that leaves me, Sage. Uhh, I was a bit confused that trashing the items did not sell them, or that there wasn't an option to sell them in-game? I get it that it adds a reality touch to it, irl your mistakes will still be in the corner years after (experience on that). but the game didn't warn me, so I wasted a little money on one of the decorating tasks.
Placements are a bit iffy, why must the ficus not wrap around the pot and stick to the middle of the room like an eyesore (sorry ficus you're perfect the way you are!), but it ruined the harmony of my space, you know? I had to work with that. Also the Virgo bed comes with the nightstand attached but putting things on top of it is another very difficult task, I wish they would 'stick' to the locations better, stick to the walls, stick to the corners, stick to the top of tables and such. Centering things had also to be done manually, but that one I don't have as much of a problem with.
It's a demo, of course, but if I have one thing that I'd really like to see more of it would be wall decors and rugs/carpets. A good carpet can really liven up the place and bring the whole space together! Still I had a lovely time applying Feng Shui principles to each of the spaces and if we ever play again, I'd like to apply them even harder. Oh! Having multiple color options for each item in the full version would be cool for that too, since quadrants have their preferred shades and shapes and so on-
A grade...? 9/10? Would definitely play again, it might as well have become a comfort game to open up when needed! Here's what I made with the house, since you wanted the screenshots! At the very end I tried to not throw anything I had already bought out (as you would realistically!), but I couldn't resist swapping the beds ahaha~ The colorful living room is my favorite area, with the ample double kitchen second!
PS: Apparently there was a TV I couldn't find...? Where???
Hi Nessy, I found the TV/PC monitor and also a gaming console under the 'sports' items. Also, I wanted to say it looks cool how you added the double kitchen to create an extra room in a way! :)
Hey! Played for a little while, and I love the concept!!! I have a couple of suggestions and issues.
Issues:
LMB works about 30% of the time. Checked with other games and this is the only one with an issue. RMB worked pretty well though!
Sensitivity is a little wonky at the moment, but I'm also just sucky at shooters
Betty showed up at like 2am and it was clear as day outside lol
Suggestions (I have a lot because I genuinely love this concept and would 1000000% play a full release):
Name customization and fake IDs ---> Maybe different saves can be like different fake IDs? You could customize the way you look, your "occupation," age. Through dialogue you could add to your backstory, and would have to keep track of it too. A slip up could lead to people getting suspicious of you.
Multitasking ---> While you wait for your targets, maybe you can do different things (solitaire, read an ikeelya catalogue), maybe these things could distract you, and consequences could be put in place if you miss your target/ don't respond to The Man.
Raids ---> There could be a chance that your apartment gets swatted. What will you do? Where will you go? Is there evidence against you? Where would you hide your weapons and such? Maybe there will be hints as to an upcoming raid (cars outside parked all the time, like the dumpster), maybe leaving at 3am would raise suspicion, so you would have to align your outings with the profession you claim to have.
Secret room ---> As you further along, your little apartment/house could expand and contain rooms to store all your hitman activities, and protect yourself from prison.
Spouse/Family ---> Maybe you can start your own family, or have people over for thanksgiving. It would be interesting trying to keep track of your activities/sudden disappearances. Also could provide interesting dialogue, your mother criticizing your decoration.
Targets ---> In order to find your targets, maybe you sit down with The Man, they give you basic info about the target (Appearance, occupation, phone number) and from there, you would need to locate the target (Home, work, park, etc.). Maybe you found out about their background, maybe your actions will produce guilt. Maybe you plot to kill The Man instead.
Naming ---> Didn't pay much attention to the names of furniture in-game, but did you know the IRL Ikeelya has a naming code? Bathroom items: Names of Swedish lakes and bodies of water; Linens: Flowers and plants; Bedroom and Living Room Furniture: Norwegian places; Bookcases: Professions and Scandinavian boy’s names
You Get the idea lol
I fr love the concept of this game. Can't wait to watch it grow!!! <33
(Sorry for any typos, it's very early in the morning and I'm bilingual so some words aren't wording how they should be lmfao)
Hey there! Thanks so much for playing the game and deep-diving into the design. Do you have game design experience? Because your ideas are super rad!
I love your suggestion of creating your own backstory and needing to keep track to not slip up. If a neighbor is really on to you, that could trigger a special mission to kill that neighbor without pay, BUT not hitting the target would lead to a police raid. I'm with you!
The vibes of this game are fantastic! Great idea and feels fun to play.
I would love it there was more objects and customisation of colours and wallpaper, rugs, things like that.

This was a really fun demo, I'm super glad how the designing works and also the dialog was light and very Swedish lol. I finished with a large kind of empty living room; it reminded me of the house I grew up in. Its all simple but I love it :)
I love your style! Thanks for playing, I'm so glad you enjoyed it 🙌
I was going to add a kitchen, but then the game ended. Next time I'll add a kitchen before the game ends.
P.S. Not proud to admit it, but when the game was directly talking to the player, it kinda scared me lol
Oh and I don't know if that was just because I was playing without a mouse at the time, but sometimes wouldn't shoot. It would kinda work if you aim and and move the mouse in advance + I appreciated the secret aiming with q, since else I wouldn't be able to shoot.
Huh thats weird. We'll look into it! Thanks
Hey, thanks for playing! You should be able to continue decorating after the game ends 🤔
Lol I didn't mean to scare you 🤭 soz
Thank your for playing! So glad you love IKEELYA 💛
What are you talking about, your style is dope 😎
quite a good game however very short and aiming is very finicky as you cant change sensitivity at all and is default very fast, also my screenshot did not save to my pc
Thanks for playing! Sorry that you encountered these issues. The aiming tech can for sure be improved. No idea why your screenshot didn't save though 🤔
yes indeed it could be improved but either way still a wonderful game
I hope to see it updated and longer
Well that was fun. i liked this short game. but what is that mood bar meant to do? Anyways could have decorated more. probably will later.
Thanks for playing! Glad you liked IKEELA 💛💙
The mood bar tells you that going on sniping missions makes Barry feel bad, but interior designing makes him happy, and is also a progress bar of how close you are to the end of the game ✌️
I streamed this game earlier today, and I absolutely LOVED it! I almost wish it didn't end so quickly!
Obligatory final shot:
Aww sick! I love your colors!
Thanks so much for streaming! 😍
Was this actually play tested on Mac. Really disappointing when I donate to play the game and it turns out the controls don't work on Mac. The trackpad means you can't hold to aim and shoot. Impossible to play with Mac, please fix. Maybe make shooting a key?
Apologies! We have a debug key for Mac users we forgot to mention on the page. You can simulate right click with [Q]!
This was so fun! I would love to play the full version, maybe with an entire house to decorate?
Awesome! That is what we were thinking as well... 👀
loved the game hers my building
Thank you for playing!
Enjoyed this a lot!
Here's my excellent building
Excellent indeed! 🤩
I've been having some troubles with the controls as I have a Mac and my trackpad makes it impossible to shoot anything. I wish there was a way to key bind or something
Apologies! We have a debug key for Mac users we forgot to mention on the page. You can simulate right click with [Q]!
Thank you, I'll try it out!
Loved this game!!! wish it was longer <3
Thank you 😊
Your house is so cute! Your plant and lamp game is 🔥
Slick 😎
Super fun game!
Thank you! ✨
A fun way to spend a Saturday evening!
Thank you!
I love your home! 💛💙
I got a little carried away
I like your style
Oh. My. WORD!! 😱

On my second playthrough (attempting to go evil), I accidentally got Barry to throw away his gun again, consequently going on a mission to create (s)table structures fueled by a hyperfocus and a limitless budget...
gives real "I've played these games before" energy, and I'm here for it
same
I love your art piece 💛💙 WOW
this was really fun to play and i hope you keep developing and growing the game
Thank you so much! Me too 😁
I did hit one bug the second time I played. I accidentally accepted a hit job right as Betty spawned on the home lot, and after that she never showed up again! I still had fun designing my house but it just wasn't quite the same without my girl haha.
Hey! Thank you so much for playing and all your compliments 🥰 I'm glad you had so much fun 😊
Love your house, and thanks for reporting the bug!
This was awesome! I saw Game Grumps play this and I downloaded it instantly. The concept was so cool and fun to play, I hope Barry enjoys his dream job as an interior decorator! :)
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the game 😊
cant wait to play more!
Thanks so much for playing! Stay tuned - we're hoping to be able to turn this into a full game at some point!
I had so much fun playing this game! I also loved seeing all the interesting background characters
Awesome! Thanks for playing and posting your creation, its lovely! So great that everyone loves the random characters 😁
Great game but the NPCs bugged out on a mission, causing them to stick in these clusters and then my target never spawned 8/10
Hey there, sorry about that, and thanks for reporting the bug. We've been struggling with this issue in some of these setups 😅 firing a shot in the air to get everyone moving sometimes does the trick 🤭
I found out today the consequences of saying "Yuk" to homemade lasagna. 10/10 so excited for more!
🤣 glad someone enjoys my dumb jokes 😆 will keep them coming for you!
really fun concept, and there's definitely potential with the story. it certainly ended before I expected. but it's good to know Barry is happy.
That's so great to hear! We have a lot of ideas for the fleshing out the story for the full game. Where would you expect it to go?
there's gotta be a possible Barry x Betty route, right? and maybe "The Man" doesn't like that...?
Very fun concept and charming throughout. Understandably limited choice of furniture and mission variety but is a very solid groundwork for a great full game.
Thanks so much! A lot of love went into it, happy it came through. Definitely will be adding more variety in the full game! 💯‼
Had a good time. Wish I could save so I could come back and redesign. I look forward to the full release as this was very relaxing. And yes I got inspired to play from the Game Grumps
YAY! For the full game we will definitely implement a save feature. Can't thank GameGrumps enough for their lovely video! Cozy games FTW!

this game was very fun and silly. i wish i could turn off the song that plays in free decorate mode. otherwise i really enjoyed it. definitely looking forward to a full release.
This was fun and good!

Hey Nessi, Mania, and Sage, thanks so much for your review! We love what you did with your space! Love your passion for interior design ✨
Thanks for the detailed feedback. This will all be very helpful when we turn this into a full game 💛💙

Thanks again for all the love, you are great! 💛💙
The vibes of this game are fantastic! Great idea and feels fun to play. I would love it there was more objects and customisation of colours and wallpaper, rugs, things like that.

Thanks for playing and posting screenshots! I love your style! Will definitely add more things to the shop in the full version! ✌️
