So we're a system and given the dual nature of your game, we have two people really engaging with it, Sage as the decorator and Mania as the sharpshooter, so I'll let each of them review their sides of the playthrough!
First me! Mania!! It was a very short game, I wanted to shoot people more! But I understood that more when you called it a demo. Can't wait for the full thing! Here are the things I noticed: For the love of god, please add a mouse sensitivity option, it's way too high and we don't have one of those gamer ones that can adjust it.
We did have pen mouse with that setting so we used that instead but, my arm hurts lol; Missed a couple shots because of it, it was a bit annoying : ( The difficulty was nice tho, sometimes I expected the target to pass by a location and got majorly dubbed by the AI, so great work there, kept me on my toes > :3 8/10 wonky but will shoot again
Oookay, so that leaves me, Sage. Uhh, I was a bit confused that trashing the items did not sell them, or that there wasn't an option to sell them in-game? I get it that it adds a reality touch to it, irl your mistakes will still be in the corner years after (experience on that). but the game didn't warn me, so I wasted a little money on one of the decorating tasks.
Placements are a bit iffy, why must the ficus not wrap around the pot and stick to the middle of the room like an eyesore (sorry ficus you're perfect the way you are!), but it ruined the harmony of my space, you know? I had to work with that. Also the Virgo bed comes with the nightstand attached but putting things on top of it is another very difficult task, I wish they would 'stick' to the locations better, stick to the walls, stick to the corners, stick to the top of tables and such. Centering things had also to be done manually, but that one I don't have as much of a problem with.
It's a demo, of course, but if I have one thing that I'd really like to see more of it would be wall decors and rugs/carpets. A good carpet can really liven up the place and bring the whole space together! Still I had a lovely time applying Feng Shui principles to each of the spaces and if we ever play again, I'd like to apply them even harder. Oh! Having multiple color options for each item in the full version would be cool for that too, since quadrants have their preferred shades and shapes and so on-
A grade...? 9/10? Would definitely play again, it might as well have become a comfort game to open up when needed! Here's what I made with the house, since you wanted the screenshots! At the very end I tried to not throw anything I had already bought out (as you would realistically!), but I couldn't resist swapping the beds ahaha~ The colorful living room is my favorite area, with the ample double kitchen second!
PS: Apparently there was a TV I couldn't find...? Where???
Hi Nessy, I found the TV/PC monitor and also a gaming console under the 'sports' items. Also, I wanted to say it looks cool how you added the double kitchen to create an extra room in a way! :)
Hey! Played for a little while, and I love the concept!!! I have a couple of suggestions and issues.
Issues:
LMB works about 30% of the time. Checked with other games and this is the only one with an issue. RMB worked pretty well though!
Sensitivity is a little wonky at the moment, but I'm also just sucky at shooters
Betty showed up at like 2am and it was clear as day outside lol
Suggestions (I have a lot because I genuinely love this concept and would 1000000% play a full release):
Name customization and fake IDs ---> Maybe different saves can be like different fake IDs? You could customize the way you look, your "occupation," age. Through dialogue you could add to your backstory, and would have to keep track of it too. A slip up could lead to people getting suspicious of you.
Multitasking ---> While you wait for your targets, maybe you can do different things (solitaire, read an ikeelya catalogue), maybe these things could distract you, and consequences could be put in place if you miss your target/ don't respond to The Man.
Raids ---> There could be a chance that your apartment gets swatted. What will you do? Where will you go? Is there evidence against you? Where would you hide your weapons and such? Maybe there will be hints as to an upcoming raid (cars outside parked all the time, like the dumpster), maybe leaving at 3am would raise suspicion, so you would have to align your outings with the profession you claim to have.
Secret room ---> As you further along, your little apartment/house could expand and contain rooms to store all your hitman activities, and protect yourself from prison.
Spouse/Family ---> Maybe you can start your own family, or have people over for thanksgiving. It would be interesting trying to keep track of your activities/sudden disappearances. Also could provide interesting dialogue, your mother criticizing your decoration.
Targets ---> In order to find your targets, maybe you sit down with The Man, they give you basic info about the target (Appearance, occupation, phone number) and from there, you would need to locate the target (Home, work, park, etc.). Maybe you found out about their background, maybe your actions will produce guilt. Maybe you plot to kill The Man instead.
Naming ---> Didn't pay much attention to the names of furniture in-game, but did you know the IRL Ikeelya has a naming code? Bathroom items: Names of Swedish lakes and bodies of water; Linens: Flowers and plants; Bedroom and Living Room Furniture: Norwegian places; Bookcases: Professions and Scandinavian boy’s names
You Get the idea lol
I fr love the concept of this game. Can't wait to watch it grow!!! <33
(Sorry for any typos, it's very early in the morning and I'm bilingual so some words aren't wording how they should be lmfao)
Hey there! Thanks so much for playing the game and deep-diving into the design. Do you have game design experience? Because your ideas are super rad!
I love your suggestion of creating your own backstory and needing to keep track to not slip up. If a neighbor is really on to you, that could trigger a special mission to kill that neighbor without pay, BUT not hitting the target would lead to a police raid. I'm with you!
The vibes of this game are fantastic! Great idea and feels fun to play.
I would love it there was more objects and customisation of colours and wallpaper, rugs, things like that.
It's a nice demo! The title of the game is funny. The interior design part is definitely the most fun part about it. Overall, pretty entertaining and interesting!
Designing: - The selection of furniture is pretty small, but that's totally understandable, even Sims had to start somewhere! Things like rugs and wall decor can help fill empty spaces a ton! - Moving around is uncomfy, only rotation and no panning is restrictive, and the rotation doesn't allow a fully top-down view, which would help with better layout. - Not a fan of not being able to move while the store is open, but it's not a deal breaker. - It would also be neat to be able to sell your furniture at a lower late, rather than throwing it out - Most hitboxes are a bit too big, so I can't have a lot of things close to each other. Which is also an issue, when you're not sure what you're selecting (want to move the printer on a desk, but move the desk and everything on it falls off) - having the mouse highlight what you're about to press would solve that issue! - I like the animations of stuff when you pick it up, rotate it and put it down. Gives it charm and character. - Storage with open shelves would be much cooler, if you could put things on the shelves, or just have them come full of clutter already (didn't use the white closet, cause it was empty, which is weird in a house) Sniping: - I think making it harder to differentiate between people is gonna be more fun: Target has a red shirt and blue skirt - there are people wearing similar outfits, like red shirt and blue pants, etc. Right now that section of the game is pretty boring and repetitive. - Maybe even having multiple targets per mission could be fun: You kill the first one and have to kill the others mid panic and running around for extra money Dialogue: - The dialogue is really slow; the skip is janky, where it skips the next sentence before the one I'm trying to skip is even finished. - I think it would be much better to just have chats that you have for interior design of the other people. You can show a full dialogue when you're first meeting Betty and get the first call from The Man, and just switch to chats after, as it gets too repetitive. You can switch to a dialogue for something major that can happen down the line. UI and SFX: - the SFX are pleasant, except the beep when you buy furniture for other people - UI is minimal but fits the theme - Settings menu for muting music separately from sfx, and being able to save your progress, when the game expanded on, would be neat - Not sure what the day and timer is for, as Betty seems to come over at any given day. Having a deadline for other people's houses would be pretty cool, and would make the clock useful. - The overall look of the game is nice, it's impressive how you were able to find assets that go so well together! - The music suddenly getting vocals was a bit of a jumpscare lol, you can add that to some credits instead! - When pressing the buttons in the left corner, it still picks up whatever is underneath it - I learned it the hard way, when it dragged my TV in the garbage when I was trying to take a picture T~T Lore: - I really thought Barry was in love with Betty the entire game, which is a fun idea to expand on - suppressing hitman instinct against her husband? (or just changing it up to be more wholesome) - The ending is a bit unrealistic, but is pretty funny how his boss just let him leave, which is pretty unheard of in the mafia and the like. - - - I did spend way too much time on decorating my house at the very end, haha
Hi! I was very happy to finish the demo. Very exciting, but the shooting, in truth, is sensitively unresponsive, but it doesn't matter! Thank you for making such an interesting game, I look forward to continuing in the full game!
Hi! Thank you so much for playing, we’re glad you enjoyed it! 🥰 The sniping zoom in zoom out maths is a bit complex 🫠 and we could definitely improve on that in the full game. Thank you for the feedback! ❤️
This was so fun! This was well put together and I was having so much fun decorating! It was also very satisfying to land a shot (I definitely missed the first time lol).
I hope to see a lot of the game play expanded. Being able to choose a path between being a designer or staying a hitman. More people in the crowds for higher paying missions or look-a-likes in the crowds with small differences. Color options for furniture and an expanded catalog. It'd also be nice to be able to rotate the furniture the opposite direction and lower and raise your view point on the Y axis.
This game has so much potential and you can tell the creators loved making this! I can't wait to see more!

Hey Nessi, Mania, and Sage, thanks so much for your review! We love what you did with your space! Love your passion for interior design ✨
Thanks for the detailed feedback. This will all be very helpful when we turn this into a full game 💛💙

Hey JayBeans, thank you so much for playing and posting a screenshot, really appreciate this and your kind words ❤️
Keep those ideas coming!
Lovely little game. Would love to see rugs of some kind being added in a future update (as well as generally more variety, or a colour picker)
Thank you so much for playing, posting a screenshot and suggestions for improving the game. We really appreciate it! ❤️
